Essay:
The Lack Of Water A Global Situation
How does the lack of water caused by the overexploitation of natural resources and water pollution affect ecosystems and human well-being? The issue of water scarcity has causes that stem from human beings most of the time. The damage caused to the planet’s water also affects the subsistence of humanity and all living beings (Muller, 2025). In general, humanity is not consciously aware of the impact of water pollution on the planet. The lack of water generates serious problems due to the exploitation of natural resources that affects ecosystems, water pollution, and how this affects human health. Pollution of the water supply, caused by activities such as mining, agriculture, and waste such as garbage, can have negative impacts on the health of flora and fauna (Cullers, 2025). The lack of water creates serious challenges due to the exploitation of natural resources, water pollution, and its impact on human health.
The exploitation of natural resources contributes to the pollution of ecosystems. Human activity transforms Earth’s natural ecosystems. This transformation clearly has a significant impact on the planet and, consequently, causes water pollution (Myers et al., 2013). This depends on the functioning of the ecosystem and does not always benefit our planet or its waters. One of the main causes of overexploitation lies in the demand for this resource by the world’s population (Muller, 2025). As already mentioned, many activities that humans perform consume too much water for their own benefit, especially those that also waste a considerable amount of water. The overexploitation of the planet's natural resources affects water, and action must be taken. Starting to address this situation would help a lot, taking it seriously and with responsibility on the part of humanity.
Water pollution is a cause that results from human activity and the activities that are carried out daily. Water pollution has caused a water shortage that has become more than just a temporary situation; current overuse and scarcity are damaging the environment, drying up lakes and rivers (Brabeck-Letmathe, 2014). Humanity doesn’t value water until it discovers it needs it to live. The overuse of an increasingly scarce water resource affects nature and has a negative impact on the planet (Brabeck-Letmathe, 2014). Logically, one would recognize that water is vital for life and human well-being, and now is the time to start becoming aware of this. But these results are also due to everything mentioned above that causes this great impact on people who are not aware; it is time to raise awareness of this serious situation with the planet’s water.
The impact of water scarcity and its various causes also affects the health of living beings. Contaminated water generated by human activities can seriously harm the health of living beings on the planet (Cullers, 2025). The diseases that occur throughout the world are due to many reasons, but several of them are especially due to water pollution. An assessment of environmental changes concluded that global diseases are clearly due to these changes (Myers et al., 2013). Human activity transforms Earth’s natural systems, and this transformation impacts human health; they are the most affected and at greatest risk (Myers et al., 2013). It is recommended that humanity begin to take care of water, even though it may not be believed that water generates many health problems.
The exploitation of natural resources, water pollution, and the impact on human health are due to various factors, all of which generate challenges due to the aforementioned causes. As mentioned, regarding the exploitation of natural resources and how it affects ecosystems, water pollution and how it also affects human health. Water scarcity also has serious problems that affect our planet, our waters, and human health. This stems from the causes already mentioned, and there must be awareness and good decisions made for the care of the planet and its water. In short, water scarcity creates serious problems that affect all of humanity. Raising awareness about this problem has many advantages, because it goes beyond a simple water shortage, but has multiple causes, and these causes originate in human beings themselves with activities that are quite harmful to the planet.
