Justice For Animal Abuse in Society

Promoting respect and education against animal abuse becomes significant for society. Animal abuse is a situation that is becoming highly serious in society today. Treating animals with compassion and respect reflects our values ​​as a society so Animals deserve respect; ensuring animal welfare results in ethics and justice (IFAW, 2024). Today there are many forms of animal abuse; it's not just violence against them, but also people who use animals for their own benefit, in terms of money and for their own entertainment. The pet trade, among other forms of animal exploitation, can promote an environment of violence in society; by promoting animal welfare, this could be reduced (IFAW, 2024). Promoting respect for animals would greatly help overcome this major obstacle that has become a nuisance for some citizens. Given that animal abuse exists, society must begin to generate changes to change this situation, such as campaigns against animal abuse, the creation of laws and sanctions, and education and teaching for respect for animals.

Campaigns against animal abuse one of the first solutions to consider for this situation. There are people who have dedicated themselves to creating these types of campaigns with marches and movements to stop this type of animal violence. In legal campaigns against animal abuse, a study conducted in the United States has discovered that animal abuse occurs in most homes where there is domestic violence, especially affecting children (MND Staff, 2025). In many places, various types of animal abuse have been observed, and that is why campaigns are beginning to be made against this to stop this consequence, which also arises from an environment of violence that may exist in the home. Animal abuse is not a minor issue; one of the activists involved in these types of campaigns has said that this harm caused to animals is linked to other forms of violence, allowing the social threat to grow (MND Staff, 2025). As a society, it is relevant to be aware of these types of campaigns and what solutions they aim to provide. Animal abuse has also become a threat to society, which is why marches against it are necessary to communicate the change we want to achieve against animal abuse.

Laws and penalties for animal abuse exist because those who cause harm pose a danger to society. Animal abuse is a situation that is generating many cases of violence, and it is a higher priority to start implementing laws to bring justice to those who harm animals. There are draft bills that seek to impose prison sentences of more than two years on people who commit animal abuse (MND Staff, 2025). Animals that suffer abuse have no voice or vote to do anything, to speak out and defend themselves; that is why there are penalties and laws of justice like these. The initiative to implement these animal justice laws also includes accessible reporting mechanisms and requires authorities to investigate crimes against animals (MND Staff, 2025). Making this change in society will help many animals that suffer this mistreatment, so raising your voice for them and denouncing all these situations would be a great change. The laws that exist now have a great impact on society because helping animals makes you a better person and reporting abuse is the right thing to do for a healthier environment.

Caring for animals and teaching people to respect them, and needs to be promoted as part of education from an early age. Overpopulation and abandonment of pets exist worldwide, saturating places where pets can be adopted, and if this issue is addressed with early and sustained education on animal welfare, there could be a change in our culture (PAWS Education, n.d.). Teaching children from a young age to care for animals, especially if they have them as pets at home, has many benefits, and one of them is fostering responsibility and a culture of peace from an early age. However, children under 10 should not be expected to care for a dog or cat completely alone; adult supervision is always needed to guide and educate them in this process (Trautner, 2017). Parental supervision is also necessary throughout this early education process; leaving them alone can cause problems, some of which include children not treating their pets properly. Animals are part of a child's life, but parental involvement is paramount for good animal education; unsupervised handling of animals is harmful to both the animal and the child (AACAP, n.d.). Childrens relationship with pets can aid their emotional developments by caring for and with a animal, they leam empathy responsibility, and patience. However there are risks without adult guidance accidents such as bites or negatives.

Generating these changes in society, such as campaigns against animal abuse, the creation of laws and sanctions, and education and teaching for respect for animals, can make animal abuse stop and cease to exist in the society. It is fundamental to be aware of this situation, as animal abuse is a serious problem worldwide. It is primordial to promote education and respect from childhood, with parental supervision throughout this process. Strict laws are needed for those who mistreat animals, as these individuals pose a danger to society. Therefore, it is significant to be aware of this issue. Animals are innocent beings who cannot speak for themselves, so it is significant that people speak up for them and that justice is served for animal abuse.
